Description
The Alhambra Castle from Spain in Africa
Once upon a time a man went to Spain. He saw the Alhambra Castle and fell in love. But alas, the castle belonged to Spain. So, the man decided to keep the image in his heart. On his travels the man came across a theatre. The theatre was discarded and earmarked to be demolished. The man saw the beautiful windows and a chandelier. He took them. Then he built his dream home: complete with a tower and dramatic staircase to the roof-top, Moroccan-style through-ways and rounded arches, and private courtyards with wrought-iron gates. The house still stands, opposite a nature reserve overlooking the Durbanville racecourse. The end.
If you love theatre and drama, entertaining and space, masked balls and soirees, braais and stargazing, and above all privacy, then this might be your next home.
As with all things old, you will be rewarded for investing a little love and tender care. This three-bedroom home with two ensuites, a guest bathroom, and a study, could easily be converted to a guest house. The living areas are spacious. Each window offers garden views, and the doors open to courtyards. The rooms have air-conditioning powered by twenty-two solar panels. Ample parking behind secure gates. Viewing times on Sunday 5 April: 2 to 5pm. Call me now.
