Theres something appealing about a house with a little history, a few quirks, and plenty of potential, and this sweet De Kelders cottage has all three.
Just 800 metres from the sea and close to the caves, swimming beach and coastal trails, this is the sort of property that could make a wonderfully relaxed holiday home, weekend escape or seaside investment, with a warmth and character that is increasingly hard to find in newer homes.
An enclosed sunny porch leads into an adjoining living and dining area, creating a lovely informal space for lazy breakfasts, afternoon reading or entertaining when the weather turns, while the cottage-style kitchen, three bedrooms and two bathrooms provide comfortable accommodation. Outside there is a perfectly-sized and flourishing garden, sheltered entertaining space with built-in braai and even a partial sea view to remind you that you are very definitely at the coast.
De Kelders, adjoining Gansbaai and just around half an hour from Hermanus, has become increasingly popular with those looking for a quieter coastal lifestyle away from the bustle of the larger holiday towns and the area is blessed with natural attractions: from whale watching and fynbos to beautiful coastal walks, swimming spots and the fascinating Klipgat Caves.
This well-priced opportunity in a particularly appealing stretch of the Whale coast deserves a place on your viewing list! Bring your ideas, your paintbrush, and a little imagination, and turn this charming old-fashioned cottage into your own seaside retreat.
